Repair Tech

This position consists of a leadership role of a team within the United Materials Service/Repair department.  Worker shall be self-motivated to work.  Worker required to be on time for work.  Typical work day is Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, weekends as assigned.  Start time can and will be assigned.  This position will be responsible for taking the on-call emergency phone.  On call means responding to any and all calls 24/7.  This position is responsible to protecting our customer's assets to the highest level.

A MANDATORY DRUG TESTED IS REQUIRED TO BE HIRED

Qualifications:

  • Experience with repairs and leak detection on various roofing systems:  EPDM, TPO, PVC, Modified Bitumen, Metal, Flashing, BUR, and misc. coatings
  • Ability to identify specific types of roofing materials and implement proper installation and repair methods

  • Ability to use all hand tools associated with roofing installation and repair, including simple hand tools and specific roofing related tools

  • Ability to identify safety hazards on project sites and take corrective measures to eliminate or reduce risks associated with those hazards

  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral communications with crew members, project supervisors, and customers.  The ability to listen is a critical aspect of communication.

  • Capable of taking constructive criticism and learning from mistakes

  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy weighted objects including materials and equipment

  • Ability to work at heights as well as access heights from ladder or lift.

  • Ability to lead and work with others

  • Ability to travel

  • Must possess a valid drivers license and be able to be insured by company

  • Must be able to complete simple repair paperwork

Safety

  • Must be familiar with OSHA regulations
  • Must understand proper PPE for the job

  • Must be able to lift and move 25  pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching high, low and acuity hearing. Frequent standing for long periods of time, Long distant walking. Ability to use PPE
  • Lifting & Carrying: Occasional light to heavy daily.  Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

  • Pushing & Pulling: Occasional heavy

  • Body Positions: Occasional stooping, bending, leaning and kneeling.

  • Body Movements:   Essential.  Full range of movement is essential; stooping, bending lifting climbing.

Starting at $23.00 per hour
